Saturday, September 8th – 8:00 – 10:30 AM

Runestone Community Center Lobby

REMINDER: USA Hockey and Minnesota Hockey require you to go on line and register your skater(s) with them. This needs to be done every year!  You will need to do this before you can register your child(ren) with the Alexandria Hockey Association on Sept. 6th or 8th. Follow the steps below for on-line registration:

1.      Go to www.usahockey.com – under “Player” click on “register online”

2.      Choose member type (Ice Players & Coaches)

3.      You must be 18 years of age to process a registration…Check the box that acknowledges that YOU are 18 or older.

4.      Follow the prompts…fill in all data correctly. Make sure you enter your child’s name as it appears on their birth certificate(first name, middle initial, last name). Name on registration MUST be the same as on their birth certificate.

5.      Process payment – Visa, Master Card, Discover or American Express (credit or debit card). A Visa gift card will also work if you don’t have a credit or debit card.

6.      At completion of on line registration, you will be able to print a confirmation page. You will need to bring this (or a copy of it) in to complete your registration with the Alexandria Hockey Association on Sept. 6th or 8th.

Each participant will need to pay the $40 USA Hockey Fee if age 7 or older. The USA Hockey fee is waived for ages 6 and younger (birth year 2006). All participants regardless of age will also need to pay the $10 Minnesota Hockey Fee (Affiliate Fee).

The skater’s home address should be used for all participants. Need a computer? Try the library. We have a computer in the AAHA office that will be available on Sept. 6th and 8th at the rink, but you may have to wait to use it – so if possible try to register on line ahead of time.  An email address is required. You can use a friend’s email address if you don’t have one.

Additional confirmation pages can be requested from the welcome page of on line registration. Click on the puck in the upper left hand corner and enter last name, date of birth and zip code. You can then print the page and/or send it to the email address you enter.

What to bring to complete your registration on Sept. 6th or 8th:

A copy of the Confirmation Page from on-line registration

  • A completed registration form (NOTE: There are 2 pages for the registration form -up to 4 skaters can be put on one form)
  • A completed Consent to Treat form for EACH skater (registration form and Consent to Treat Forms are available on the website – www.alexhockey.org – or at the rink)
  • A copy of your child’s birth certificate if you haven’t turned one in before. This MUST be a certificate issued by a government unit (county, state) NOT a hospital certificate. We need a copy of ALL skater’s birth certificates on file, not just traveling teams!
  • If your skater(s) participated in the Pucks Unlimited program you MUST turn in the puck count sheets at registration.

Registration fees must be paid at registration on Sept. 6th or 8th. We accept checks, cash or credit cards. We also offer direct debit from your bank account. You may register for the fall clinic as part of registration ($40 for ages 9 and up). Dates and times will be decided later based on enrollment numbers.

NEW THIS YEAR: You will have the option of reducing your fees owed by choosing to participate in the calendar fund raiser on Sept. 6th or 8th, so it is important that you come in!  If you want to participate to reduce your fees, you must pick up your calendars that day.  ALSO – THERE IS A LATE FEE OF $75 PER SKATER AFTER 9/8/2012  (except for Mites, Mini-Mites or Girls 8U). We need to know numbers so we can figure out how many teams/coaches we will need.

Parents have questioned why we have a $25 user fee on our registration form. The hockey association pays this to the City of Alexandria for EVERY skater who does not live within the city limits. – If you live in one of the townships (Alexandria, La Grande, Carlos, etc.) we have to pay this fee to the city.

Girls 6 and under – register as Mini-Mites. Some of these girls will be skating with Girls 8U, but register as Mini-mites (or rink rookies – if that applies).

Minimum age is 4 years old by June 30, 2012.

Do you know of others who may be interested in playing hockey this year? If so, please direct them to our web site or forward them the email blast you received about registration.
